Rainie (the blogger) Will Be Taking A Break

I've decided to take a break from watching dramas. I'm going to focus on school more and maybe finally read some books for a change. This break is planned to be for a few weeks or two but I'm already itching to watch some drama. Just a head's up! Well I'm off to watch Disney Channel's StarStruck starring Sterling Knight. Haha, I was told that this was a good movie. But judging on the trailer, it looks like Camp Rock which to me was a disappointment. Just saying.

P.S. I want to watch Xiao Xiao Bin's new drama "P.S Man" with Blue Lan! o.O Soooo cute!

So I Finally Watched AC 19

I've been putting off this episode for so long and have finally got the courage to watch it. Sigh. Autumn's Concerto is simply amazing. I can't believe the finale is coming up this weekend. I understand why Fated To Love You is the highest rated but Autumn's Concerto is just simply amazing. I dunno, my opinion changes everytime so I can't really rank them. I honestly want to learn how to play "Air On G String" on the piano. (Or violin.) This drama has a really special place in my heart just because. AC forever. :]

P.S I'm going to be sobbing when it's over, even if it has a happy ending.

NEWS: Rainie Yang was voted Sexiest Taiwanese star by men's magazine Complex magazine. The list consist of: Rainie Yang, Megan Lai, Joe Chen, Ariel Lin, Lin Chi Ling, Barbie Hsu, Angela Chang, Bianca Bai, Coco Chaing and Cyndi Wang.

Rainie's (the blogger) reaction: Wow, I believe that is big and strange news. Rainie Yang is really pretty but "sexy"? I suppose it was the cute and innocence look that they liked. Plus I'm very shocked that Jolin Tsai did not make it. Congrads to Rainie though! Her popularity it growing. :] Congrads to everyone!

Random: So I really want to watch the Mulan movie starring Zhou Wei (Vicki Zhou) and Chen Kun.

Updates: New post in Autumn's Concerto "Rainie's Drama Diary"

Cliche Dramas or No?

So today I watched two episodes of Because of You and I love Lego Li. :] Unfortunately, he plays the bad guy in this and Baron Chen is the lead. I honestly hope that this isn't a cliche drama where the lead female ends up with the male. I hope that they end up with who they like right now... not who they might develop feelings for.

So my question today is: Do you prefer cliche dramas where you know what will happen and just want to watch all the stuff they have to go through or not cliche dramas where there are many twists and turns?

SPOILERS AHEAD! (maybe)
Hopefully this won't be a spoiler but this is what I think will happen in the drama:

Somethings happens (like a misunderstanding) and Sun Fun and his girlfriend break up.
Sun Fun and Yu Yu Tong grow closer together.
Fang Zi Hao ends up liking Yu Yu Tong.
Sun Fun and Yu Yu Tong end up together though.

Maybe? Or maybe it will be how I want it...

Something happens (like a misunderstanding) and Sun Fun and his girlfriend break up and she goes with Fang Zi Hao.
Sun Fun and Yu Yu Tong plan to break Fang Zi Hao and Sun Fun's girlfriend up.
Fang Zi Hao ends up liking Yu Yu Tong and date.
Sun Fun and his girlfriend make up and get married.

But I know that it isn't going to happen like that. Sigh.

NEWS:
-Eunhyuk from Super Junior has the swine flu.
- Park Jaebeom will not be returning to 2PM
-Ethan Ruan's grandfather has passed away

Because of Lego Li!

(Random Picture Comment: You can kinda see the pairing... >.< )

I'm starting a new drama, a drama that I was sooo happy to find. :] Baron Chen and Lego Li (!!!) star in Because of You. I should be starting Boys Over Flowers but I'll postpone that. :] That's it. Hahaha.

P.S. The ending theme song Lego is singing is in Lotus Rain. Hahaha, good memories. :]

No more ISWAK for me

Yuuup, I finished watching ISWAK. :/ It was a nice ending but I'm still kind of depressed that it's over. Thank goodness for They Kiss Again. ;] That is the sequal to ISWAK by the way and I've heard that there's also a third and final one called They Kiss Again. But Ariel Lin has rejected the role which makes me really sad... but there might not even be a third one either. You never know with rumors... Anyways, ISWAK really did live up to all the reviews I've heard about it. Now I must go do a summary. Augh. I'll keep the drama diary on it because I've wasted so much time on it that it would be a shame if I just deleted it all. I'll finish up all the drama diaries for the dramas I've started doing them for and just not start a new one. :] Oh dear, I still have to watch episode 19 of Autumn's Concerto and it's already Wednesday! I'm soooo behind. Argh.

P.S. I really really really hope that Ariel Lin will take up ISWAK 3 and Extravagant Challenge. She's been working so hard though so it's totally understandable why she would take up these dramas. But in my dreams, she'd be the female role and Joe Chend would be the male role. :]

NEWS: So Calvin Chen's and Aaron Yan's upcoming drama "Love Buffet" is changing female roles? What? Joanne Zeng or Qiao Qiao is the current female lead. Rumors have been flying that she looks too old for the two male leads. She is actually younger than the two Fahrenheit members too. (Strange...) The reason they came foward with for postponing the drama (other than the 88typhoon) was that Qiao Qiao's schedule met conflicts with Love Buffet's schedule. Hence they are now rewriting the drama and replacing the female lead.

Rainie's (the blogger) Response: Whaaat? Seriously? I've been waiting for this drama for quite some time now because I didn't feel like watching Momo Love. Qiao Qiao looks perfectly fine for the role and if there are schedule conflicts, they'd still be postponing due to the rewriting of the script. Excuses excuses... They probably want someone more famous for the role or something. Like having two Fahrenheit members not enough. Hmph. Haha, it's not like I need another drama to keep me away from schoolwork. :]

(&& wtf is going on with Summer's Desire? o.O)

DWL Refilming Ending?

(Random Picture Comment: Hehehe, I had to stick Jerry Yan in here. :] )

Okay so the pirated version of Down With Love has hit the internet when only two of the episodes had aired. Ella and Jerry have worked hard on this drama and they deserve high ratings. They are now set to refilm the ending which makes me very happy because I've read spoilers so now they're not spoilers.. :]

http://asianfanatics.net/forum/topic/712950-down-with-love-meets-with-piracy-issues-with-intentions-to-re-film-ending/

Ariel Lin is probably my favorite Asian actress. :] She isn't the best of anything but I just like her. And she's short so that makes me feel better about my own height. Haha. Well I've just found out she had to go under surgery! It was a success but I hope she recovers fully and successfully. :]

http://asianfanatics.net/forum/topic/712865-ariel-lin-survived-operation-which-took-her-off-air-for-months/

Well I watched episode 22 of Fated To Love You today. :] It's such a cute, funny and happy yet sad drama. I adore it. Anyways I'm also watching Meteor Garden as well. I'm on episode 16 right now, only four more episodes to go before I can review on it. :]

-Rainie

Confusion

Okay so Autumn's Concerto's episodes number is still TBA. I haven't watched episodes 19 yet so I'm very behind. I'm unsure what's going on because I'm not in tune with Autumn's Concerto upates. Sorry. :/ Ugh, I'm also very behind in a lot of dramas and schoolwork. D; Not the best time to start a new drama but I can't help myself!

Currently Watching:
- Meteor Garden (Episode 1)

Put On Hold:
- Fated To Love You (Episode 22)

Meridian- Amber Kizer

Meridian- Amber Kizer

Product Description:

Half-human, half-angel, Meridian Sozu has a dark responsibility.

Sixteen-year-old Meridian has been surrounded by death ever since she can remember. As a child, insects, mice, and salamanders would burrow into her bedclothes and die. At her elementary school, she was blamed for a classmate's tragic accident. And on her sixteenth birthday, a car crashes in front of her family home - and Meridian's body explodes in pain.

Before she can fully recover, Meridian is told that she's a danger to her family and hustled off to her great-aunt's house in Revelation, Colorado. It's there that she learns that she is a Fenestra - the half-angel, half-human link between the living and the dead. But Meridian and her sworn protector and love, Tens, face great danger from the Aternocti, a band of dark forces who capture vulnerable souls on the brink of death and cause chaos.

Review:
So, pretty interesting intake on death. This book was overall pretty awesome with just but a few complaints. (what is this blog all about after all?) One, the main character never seemed to fully grasp the situation she was in! It was pretty much the climax of the book and she was still calling her mentor mental.
Second, either I was really tired when I was reading this but I was confused a lot. About none of the key points I assure you but about little things. He said, she said- when there are 2 guys and 2 girls in the room. I had no idea who was talking. Or the main character, Meridian, would reference back to a feeling that I never recalled having occured! For some of you, you don't really care- the point is across. But for me, I got a bit irritating.
Finally, when Meridian was practicing her "Fenestra's skills" there didn't seem to be any hard work. Or it at least wasn't described well. There were a couple of times where Meridian would get into some sticky situations while "helping someone cross", but when it was just her and her mentor working on seemingly simple tasks, it was a breeze! All those little tasks that are sweat- pouring for the character, enough that you quietly cheer them on because you both know that JUST as this is accomplished, it's one less hurdle in getting to that awesome power!!- it just wasn't there. I pity poor Eragon who struggled long and hard to simply lift up the little stone with his mind.
So yes, that last one was probably the biggest itch in the book but overall, the book was good, good. And I read that there will be a sequel out. Keep an eye out ;)

I've Never Watched Meteor Garden

Well today I watched more Down With Love. It's a really cute and funny series. I feel so dumb for saying I wouldn't watch it. If you like ISWAK I bet you'd like DWL too. :] Oh well today I started to watch Meteor Garden (just the beginning of episode 1) just so I can watch Jerry Yan and Vanness Wu. I plan to read the manga (Boys Over Flowers) sometime too. I've never watched Barbie Xu's drama and I'm not a fan of her. But hey, I'm not a fan of Ella and I love DWL. But Vanness looks like a creeper! Blech. But Jerry Yan looks good. ;] & the plot reminds me of Ouran High School Host Club kinda. Not really. It's just the whole poor girl at rich school thing. Barbie Xu is good for the role actually. Her face looks the part? Haha, I don't know how you would explain it. :]

P.S. The date of the series finale of Autumn's Concerto has been extended to this weekend I believe. Sorry, I didn't fully understand. XD I believe this is what they were saying.

I'm Sorry AC & HMS

I'm not a loyal Autumn's Concerto or Hi My Sweetheart fan. I've said that I would not watch Down With Love but I did. And honestly, I think it might be better than Hi My Sweetheart and perhaps Autumn's Concerto. I can't say that this is my final thought though because I'm still at the beginning of DWL Plus, AC isn't a comedy while HMS and DWL are. I prefer comedies but AC is an exception. Xiao Xiao Bin is just adorable! Anyways, this is an update, not a Rainie blab entry! Ugh, I read a spoiler though. :/ Boooo.

P.S. I totally reccomend Down With Love! Watch it! Fall in love with it! ;D

Are You Down?

Well today I watched the first episode of Down With Love. I know I shouldn't be starting a new drama before I finish the others but I couldn't resist. I totally reccomend it based on what I've watched so far. Ella plays her character really well and Jerry Yan is like a sexier version of Ren Guang Xi. (Only Vanness can me Guang Xi but I'm just saying.) Xiao Xiao Bin (Xio Le in Autumn's Concerto) is adorable times 10000 because he's even younger in this drama. :]
Well Wanky Janky is going under construction but I'll keep updating. An "Update" will be posted every few days. Hopefully everyday but Sunnie and I are busy. Sunnie hopefully will be able to post most more books reviews and hopefully I will start on book reviews. Manga reviews will soon be up so don't worry. Well that's pretty much it. I really really really want to talk about Down With Love though. Hmm, maybe I'll get a tumblr or livejournal? E-mail me at wankyjanky@yahoo.com if you think that's a good or bad idea. :] E-mail us if you want us to add something to our blog or get ride of something. We love feedback! :] If you're e-mailing Sunnie please make sure to put "Sunnie: " and same for me, Rainie. If it's a general e-mail to both of us then just put the subject. Thanks!
P.S. I will try to keep Updates as short as possible!

Skip Beat Drama?! Yes Yes Yes!

Ah well we really need to get started on manga reviews don't we eh? Here's a poorly made sneak peek video. ;]

Well I watched a Down With Love trailer and I want to watch it! I'm not an Ella fan but maybe this drama can prove me wrong? Well I still need to finish Hana Kimi (halfway through first episode) so I'll keep my opinions on Ella in a corner until I finish her dramas. Well, I'm off!
Oh and if you didn't know, we're going under major construction.

NEWS: Omg this might be old news but it's new news to me! A Skip Beat Taiwanese drama! Omfg yes! It's called Extravagant Challenge (華麗的挑戰)!
-Joe Cheng was rumored to have been confirmed to star in it along with Ariel Lin (my favorite TW actress) but apparently they both withdrawled from the drama. Ariel quit due to unfair treatment. :/ I think it would have been the most amazing cast imagined for Skip Beat. They are the most perfect couple and I would love to see them again after ISWA, TKA and Love or Bread.
-I've also read that Jerry Yan will be replacing Joe Cheng and Wu Zun will be in it as well. That kinda makes up for it but I would still prefer having Ariel Lin as female lead and Joe Ceng as male lead.
-I'm asuming Wu Zun would play Sho. For Sho (the opposing male lead) I was more thinking of Jiro Wang or Shoe Luo. But whatever, as long as they come up with a decent cast then I'm happy. ;]

This was better than when I found out Lego Li was in the drama Because Of You (星光下的童話)! And that made me sooo happy but this makes me even happier! OMG! I'm probably scaring you aren't I? o.O I must decide whether to wait for the drama or actually finish reading the manga. (The manga is confusing for me.. D;) Hopefully the drama won't ruin the manga and vice versa. Now, if only a TW Drama is made for Fruits Basket, Special A, Ouran High School Host Club, Vampire Knight or Death Note. I might possible cry of happiness. (There's nothing wrong with K or J dramas but I don't understand Korean or Japanese so it's not as good.)

P.S. I have my fingers crossed that Ariel Lin and Joe Ceng are going to be in it! Especially Ariel Lin!

General Winston's Daughter- Sharon Shinn

General Winston's Daughter- Sharon Shinn

Product Description:

Averie is thrilled to visit Chiarrin, a colonized land her father oversees as general of the Aebrian military. As the foreign rhythms of her new life sweep her along, the general's daughter begins to question the ethics and wisdom of colonial governance, depicted as a rough parallel to British rule during empire days. She delves into the culture, strains against the fussy restraints of her era and social class, and finds herself drawn to an officer of non-Aerbrian descent. But it is an interesting young woman from the marketplace, Jalessa, who truly opens a window into Chiarrizi culture. As political resistance begins to threaten colonial rule, security becomes tighter, tensions rise, and the plot culminates in some rather shocking events. But Shinn, an author who smoothly crosses back and forth between adult and YA fantasy audiences, skillfully shepherds her tale to a satisfying, believable conclusion. This thoughtful romance with political overtones will prove irresistible to many readers.

Review:

You know those books that, after you read them, always seem to pop back up in your mind? This was definately one of those.
(I actually read this book like 3 years ago but I really wanted to share how awesome it was!)

Set in time that many other books also share, I didn't really think that it would be able to set itself apart. However, this book blew me away with its haunting values. The ending was completely unexpected, (Well at least for me.) and usually I would have thought it was over the top crazy, but it wasn't.

Putting it simply I haven't read it in forever but I am always thinking about it now and then. I think it had very cool depth and worth your time. It also has some lovely romance in it as well ;)

P.S. This author has some other amazing books out there as well. If you liked this one, check some of the others out later!

Top Combine

(Random Picture Comment: I like the two on the left side the most. Actually I like all of them but one. The one on the right top is too girly for my likings.. XD)

Well I'm kinda sick of listening to Fahrenheit all the time so I've been looking for different mandopop boy bands. Lollipop (Bang Bang Tang) is pretty good but ehh. Well I came across "Top Combine" today. They're pretty good....and pretty. :] Hahaha I'm not shallow but hey! You know that it's you're the same. :P I'm having trouble telling who is who though. That's why I hate listening to a new band (especially Asian because I can't tell who's who. XD And it's not racist coming from an Asian...kinda.) or a new drama (again, usually Asian) or manga. I have trouble recognizing faces. Well, I'm off to listen to my iPod! Oh I'm probably not going to watch Autumn's Concerto for a while, I just don't want it to end yet. :/ I'm still on the last episode of ISWAK, haha. Even though there's a sequel, I don't want to end it yet. The ending of Hi My Sweetheart was kind of sh*tty so I'm kind of upset.

P.S. Anyone read the manga or mahwa or wahtever "Boy of The Female Wolf"? Well I found Vietnamese raws (yeah I know, not in English, doesn't help. Hey looking at the pictures aren't that bad. I was confused though haha. I couldn't wait for an english version to come out though!) up to book 17 I believe. I don't know how many there are... Hmm.

P.P.S. Taylor Swift does really bad in Valentine's Day. :/ She used to be my favorite singer but not so much anymore. She really should stick to singing though, acting isn't her thing. Just saying.

Autumn's Conceto V.S. Fated To Love You

Autumn's Concerto's ratings dropped. :/ Episode 18 was its peak at 8.23 and then plop came episode 19 at 7.67. It's the second highest rated TW drama right now, under Fated To Love You. Well the last episode is coming up and it doesn't seem that Autumn's Concerto has a chance of beating FTLY. Even in my heart I'm unsure which one is better. My top fives shuffle around all the time so yeahh. :] I haven't watched episode 19 yet but I'm sad that episode's 20 is coming up. The last episode. Sigh. The end of AC. :/ I think I'm going to watch Down With Love after I finish Miss No Good. (I'm on the last episode.) Haha, I haven't finished FTLY either! Or ISWAK, Brown Sugar Macchiato, ToGetHer and a whole bunch of dramas. I'm probably going to end up having to rewatch them. XD Watching Xiao Xiao Bin as some other woman's child might be weird though. Xiao Le, Mu Chen and Guang Xi forever. :]

I really want to watch a K or J drama but I don't know which one to watch. E-mail me suggestions if you like at wankyjanky@yahoo.com Please put "Rainie: K/J Dramas" as the subject so I know what it is. :]

A new drama that has caught my eye is "Because of You". It stars Baron Chen and Megan Lai. At first when I was reading the summary I was reminded of the plot to ToGetHer and how similar is sounded...kinda. I decided that I might watch it and when I was scanning the cast list a name popped out. Lego Li. Ahhhh! So I'm determined to watch this drama. :] I don't know where yet though. o.O

P.S. I've started a new manga called Special A Well not it's not a "new" manga but it's new to me. :] I need to start working on manga reviews don't I? Augh! Originally this blog was to be dedicated to book reviews. Then I added on a whole bunch of other things. :] I still need to do a book review don't I?

Random Picture Caption: "One of the best episodes of one of the best TW dramas. :]"

Xiao Xiao Bin Is On A Role

Xiao Xiao Bin & his brother, Mini Bin. Aww!!! Mini Bin is the one on the left by the way. They're both adorable! He is also the number one most watched drama star with Autumn's Concerto and the new series "Down With Love". Vanness Wu and Jerry Yan battle it out though. They both play lawyers and are the original F4 members. Currently, Vanness is winning. Go Autumn's Concerto! I'm thinking of giving Down With Love a try though, Xiao Xiao Bin is so cute, I want to see him when he was even younger. He's currently working on a new drama as well, I forgot what it's call though... I'll post as soon as I remember. But apparently he isn't close to the cast as he's close to Autumn's Concerto. Awwww.
And I never knew Vanness Wu had a twitter. Huh. But here's the link! (Hopefully...it's real and not some creeper!)
http://twitter.com/VanNessVanwu

NEWS:

Well the raitings for Autumn's Concerto have been amazing. But that's because the drama is amazing. ;] Chris Wu did a dive of 7 meters to show his appreciation. Originally it was only 3 meters but he bumped it up and was planned to jump off the Bitan but it was illegal so instead, he jumped at a local swimming pool. Plus he took of this shirt, ahahaha. (Isn't as impressive as Vanness but hey, give him credit for his dive.) He yelled "I'm doing this for "Next Stop!" and jumped. He also reported that if the drama's ratings break 10% this week, Ady An will do a pole dance. (She was busy filming her new drama in Mainland so she was not there for the dive. Vanness though, made it. [He was previously in the U.S.])

The drama that was set to premire this year has been delayed. Barbie Xsu's, Peter Ho's and Huang Xiao Min's (♥♥♥) drama "Summer's Desire" is having some problems apparently. The network is worried about their age (all in their early 30's) and Huang Xiao Min's cost.
Rainie's (the blogger) Comment: "I really wanted to watch this after Autumn's Concerto but I guess not. :/)

My Top Fives

I didn't watch any dramas today, too lazy. I'm still bitter over the fact that Xue Hai never returned. Not even for the last episode. :( Okay, that's the last time I will ever mention that again. Promise. Autumn's Concerto though, was amzing. Well today I thought I should share with you my top 5 of TW dramas and celebrities.
Random Picture Caption: I think when guys wear glasses (either squared rimmed or nerd glasses) they look hot. Hahahaha, here's Aaron Yan and Jiro Wang. ;]

2. Fated To Love You
3. Hi My Sweetheart
4. It Started With A Kiss
5. Brown Sugar Macchiato

Prettiest Female Celebrities (Asian):

4. Athena Chu (She's not as young as the others but she's still pretty.)
5. Cyndi Wang* (I think she's gorgeous...)
(& Hebe Tian! Jolin Tsai! Joe Chen!* But they didn't make the cut. :/ )

Prettiest Female Celebrities (Asian) That I Don't Get:
1. Ella Chen** (In some photos she looks like a boy. Not all the time but some of them)
2. Vicki Zhou** (She's pretty in a unique way... but still.)
3. Tiffany Xu** (She's Euroasian but she still counts I think. She's really really really pretty in
Autumn's but not so much ISWAK.)
4. Alice Tzeng** (She's pretty but she has a common face.)
5. Karen Kwok (She has one of those horse faces that I don't really like.)

1. Aaron Yan (He's adorable, what else do I have to say??)
2. Kim Bum (He's adorable as well.)

Attractive Male Celebrities (Asian) That I Don't Get:
1. Mike He** (He's good looking, I know, but there's something about him I don't like.)
2. Vanness Wu* (He's okay but doesn't cut it for me.He has a sexy voice though)
3. Jerry Yan** (He looks good in some photos, and not the best in othere in my opinion.)
(CHANGED! JERRY YAN'S PRETTY CUTE ;] )

4. Calvin Chen** (Looks better with the short hair but with long? Uhh..no.)
5. Kim Joon* (He's good looking but again, some photos just don't cut it for me.)

*One's that many many many many people disagree with. I might be a freak. >.< ** Oh I'm definately going to get jumped!

I'm Sad

Well there's no more Hi My Sweetheart. :( Apparently the directors would have made this series longer if they would have known it would get such high ratings but it's too late for that now. The last episode was only 45 minutes long. There's only two more episodes of Autumn's Concerto before its finally over. That makes me even sadder. I honestly don't think that there can be a drama that can ever meet Autumn's Concerto standards. But hey, that's what everyone thought about many dramas (such as ISWAK & Fated To Love You) and then Autumn's Concerto came out. What makes me happy though, is that Xiao Xiao Bin is the number one most watched idol star on tv. :] He deserves it! But I've also heard that this is effecting his childhood which makes me sad again. I think Autumn's Concerto might be the best drama of the decade. :] We'll see how Down To Love does.

NEWS:

Chai Zhi-Ping, the producer of Hi My Sweetheart, is already working on new dramas! One of them will star Wilbur Pan (she casted him for Miss No Good) and another will star no other than Hi My Sweetheart's Show Luo. She is working with two Korean writers to bring some pizazz! Another upcoming drama of her's will star Kingone Wang (Black & White) as a rich boy. The drama is rumored to have 60 episodes and called "Xiao Ju's Spring". She is working with Shenzhen TV in mainland China on this drama.

Got this from: http://www.cpopaccess.com/2010/01/will-pan-to-star-in-new-drama.html

Rainie's (the blogger) Reaction:

I can't wait! Wilbur Pan was pretty good in Miss No Good and anything with Sho Luo in it, I'll be watching! Hope the producer and director doesn't cut these dramas short like they did with Hi My Sweetheart. The one starring Kingone Wang doesn't sound too bad, I like my dramas long and not lagging. 60 episodes is satisfying. :]
